Smartfinger

The SmartFinger® Film sensors are based on state-of-the-art polymer process technologies and offers small, ultrathin and flexible swipe fingerprint sensors compliant with the form factors specified by the ISO/IEC 7810 standards for identity and smart cards.

The finger swipe area is only 50 µm thick, while the total thickness of the fingerprint device including ~15 mm2 signal processing Application-Specific-Integrated-Circuit (ASIC) is less than 0,35 mm.

Combined with the highly efficient, small footprint authentication software, the SmartFinger® Film sensors are ideally suited stand-alone, embedded biometric applications such as biometric tokens, biometric cards, remote controls, USB sticks, PC peripherals, locks, handheld devices etc.

SmartFinger® Film, the most versatile swipe fingerprint authentication solutions offers the following features:

  • The industry’s thinnest and most flexible Fingerprint sensor available - 0.05 mm thick
  • Excellent image quality and biometric performance (false rejection rate, false acceptance rate)
  • A variety of customizable geometries of the sensor substrate available
  • Alternative electrical I/O connections available, including Zero insertion force (ZIF), Anisotropic Conductive Film(ACF), and Ball Grid Array (BGA)
  • Compliant with ISO Card form factor
  • On-board micro controller capability for complete biometric system functionality.

The SmartFinger® single line swipe sensor imaging principle, capacitive sensing scheme, chip solutions, live finger detection and other features are covered by 14 patent families.
