The SmartFinger® Film sensors are based on state-of-the-art polymer process technologies and offers small, ultrathin and flexible swipe fingerprint sensors compliant with the form factors specified by the ISO/IEC 7810 standards for identity and smart cards. The finger swipe area is only 50 µm thick, while the total thickness of the fingerprint device including signal processing electronics is less than 0,35 mm.
Combined with the highly efficient, small footprint authentication software, the SmartFinger® Film sensors are ideally suited for stand-alone, embedded applications such as biometric tokens, biometric cards, remote controls, USB sticks, PC peripherals, locks, handheld devices etc.
Extremely compact, highly robust and offering very low power consumption, the IDEX SmartFinger® film swipe sensor technology can be customized for easy integration into any biometric based product due to its thin and highly flexible geometrical design, alternative I/O connections and ability for on film microcontroller integration.
The SmartFinger® Film sensor is based on IDEX’s industry proven capacitive fingerprint sensing technology and incorporates real-time sensor optimization algorithms for all skin types under the widest range of environmental conditions. The images are reconstructed in real-time compensating for variations in swiping speed and direction.
The SmartFinger® Film technology is available to OEMs and system integrators as either components for integration into products, or by technology licensing using their own in-house production capabilities, supply-chain and distribution.
