SmartFinger^® Development Kits

IDEX offers development kits and reference designs which facilitates partners’ design-in of the SmartFinger^® technology in end-user products.

The PC development kit includes a USB based development module (UDM), demo software and a Software Development Kit (SDK).

The SmartFinger^® module is running with the IDEX authentication software and can also be integrated into end-to-end software suite from Digital Persona, Inc. that is bundled with major fingerprint laptop brands.

IDEX also offers an embedded software development kit (EDK) to enable customers to implement fingerprint authentication solutions or add fingerprint authentication to existing products. The development kit is based on standard development boards supplied by the microcontroller vendor and a plug-on module with the fingerprint sensor and the software libraries will be provided by IDEX.

The biometric algorithms run on a separate microcontroller, performing the functions of real-time image reconstruction, feature extraction, and matching.

The algorithms are highly optimized to minimize the requirements for processing capacity and memory (both RAM and flash).

Everything is provided in relocatable library files that are independent of operating system, compiler and development environment.
